DJ Two Teks (Bang Bang)

AJ Naylor, also known as “DJ Two Teks” I Started DJIN in 1993 with my best friend Shannon who bought a pair of turntables and a mixer from a auction. We sat it up in his bedroom where we started to teach ourselves how to DJ and we became addicted to learning how to become DJ’s. A few years later I bought my own tables and mixer . Just like most DJ’s I started out in my bedroom with just a handful of records that I got from my uncle and other family members. I practiced every day for hours on end; scratching, mixing and beat juggling trying to be like some of the DJ’s I grew up listening to.

Moving forward. I started DJIN in night clubs in the late 90’ early 2000’s from Frederick MD to DC and Baltimore. In 2004 I attended Scratch DJ Academy in NYC and while attending I started teaching beginners lessons at Scratch DJ Academy. A few years later I found myself teaching at the Frederick Rock School.

In 2008 I started a party called BANGBANG at Cafe Nola in Frederick MD, it was the first true dance party in Frederick. I would play all music genres for the perfect sound. The party grew across the DMV and had DJ’s from all over attend. It’s 2018 and it’s still Frederick’ s number one dance party.

Crooked Hills

Marcus is moving to Colorado. Let's send him off with a rad show!

Tending To The Corpses
Crooked Hills
Asthma Castle

Get there early this is going to be one hell of a show!

Crooked Hills is a hard-charging thunderhorse of a rock band hailing from Frederick MD and the surrounding foothills of the Appalachian mountains.

Crooked Hills is known for their energetic live show and a sound saturated with massive riffs and lyrics inspired by the rich dark history of the area.

Crooked Hills plays a style of heavy music with elements pulled from metal and hardcore, but also equally infused with classic rock swagger and bluesy southern grooves. A tight and driving rhythm section foundation supports wailing guitar leads and screaming vocals.

Crooked Hills has played numerous venues in the Maryland and Virginia area since coming together in 2015. Recent line-up additions have enhanced and solidified the granite monolith that is the Crooked Hills sound.

Crooked Hills released and on-line 3 song EP at the beginning of 2017 and is currently in-studio finishing a full-length to be released later this year.

Marshal Fuzz
Oct

9:30 PM21:30

Marshal Fuzz

Marshal Fuzz, an original DC based rock band that evokes the fuzzy blues rock tradition of classic rock bands such as Black Sabbath, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream. Their sound has been described as a mesh of Black Sabbath and Muddy Waters. With Sulaiman Rahman on guitar and vocals, Vince Vezzi on bass, and Nick Rodousakis on drums they combine aggressive guitar riffs, extended live jams, soulful vocals and a tight rhythm section to capture the classic power trio sound with an original contemporary twist. What a rock band should be!! Formed in 2014, they spent most of the year in the studio writing material and developing their sound. They emerged out of rehearsals to begin tearing up the DC/MD/VA Mid-Atlantic scene, establishing themselves as THE force to be reckoned with on any stage.

From Japan The Silhouette of Nude is a progressive/noise/post rock band on their 2nd US tour. Dont wanna miss...

Atomic Mosquitos/ Killers From Space

Atomic Mosquitos/ Killers From Space

Not much is known about these four mutated mosquitos; their lives were as normal as most mosquitos until that fateful day they landed on Three Mile Island.  "I knew the moment I tasted their blood that something was wrong--horribly wrong!," B Negativewas rumored to have said thatday.  We believe it was that day, that very day, that changed them forever; at least this is what scientists at MIT believe.  You see, since that day they've all had this strange desire to play surf music.  Before the accident they had never heard of surf!  We think something happened during the mutation, something so horrible that they all found a longing for surf music.  From what we understand they were warned about the consequences of surf...there is no market for it....it's not really music to most people.  They knew they were on a musical road to obscurity.  But there was nothing we could do; something, something beyond our power, had taken control of them, and they will forever be known as the Atomic Mosquitos.

"Three albums on, this highly acclaimed Virginia based combo continues to kick out the jams like a swarm of pesky insects buzzing around the heads and bodies of unsuspecting victims. Comprised of fourteen wet and wild instrumentals whose cool titles are just as imaginative as indicated, “Meltdown” deftly incorporates old school surf motifs with snippets of contemporary sounds. Offerings such as “Dark Side Of The Chimps,” “The Villain In The Panama Hat,” “It’s The Mountain Dew Talking” and “Mosquito Royale” slip, slide, crackle and crunch with heavy duty dynamics sculpted of bruising guitars and powerhouse drum fills. Atomic Mosquitos batter their music into submission, causing their instrumentals to turn to shades of black and blue. Flooded with paralyzing melodies and challenging arrangements, “Meltdown” takes surf rock to a whole new level, while at the same time retaining the basic ingredients that made the genre so boss in the first place."

-Beverly Paterson - Lance Monthly

"The Atomic Mosquitos are led by the twin reverb guitars of Joe Marencic and Paul Carson with Stephen Blickenstaff adding theremin touches. Driven along by Sean Rush on bass and Craig Stang's drums they deliver a full-on uptempo surf assault exemplified by their storming take on Khachaturian's Sabre Dance. All of the other titles are group originals and, while their sound and style are clearly surf, they are indeed original pieces. Banzai Fallout is just as big a blast as its title suggests and the momentum is maintained through the mighty opening sequence of The Villain In The Panama Hat, Mosquito Royale with its proud theme, the crashing, splashing Dusty Duty, Hollow Point with its exquisite damped reverb picking and the fast flowing Sno Balls. The menacing Dark Side Of Chimps is a mid-tempo piece that thunders along with incredible power while The Liquidators and the title track are highly charged stinging themes full of emotion.

The Mosquitos have evolved from the echo guitars of their eponymous debut (Pipeline 57) through the reverb/echo combination on Release The Mosquitos! (Pipeline 68) to the revved-up reverb of this third album which I can only describe as monstrous -- in a nice, surfy way of course. It's the most satisfying blast I've heard for ages."

-Alan TaylorPipeline Magazine

Since forming in the summer of 1989, the Killers From Space sound has been described as "the hard part of cauliflower in the garbage disposal".

Chris Cassaday

Chris Cassaday

Chris Cassaday is a folk-funk singer/songwriter from Arlington, Virginia. Over the past 4 years, Chris has performed at hundreds of different venues in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York, Florida, Hawaii and even Ireland. He graduated from James Madison University where he regularly performed as a solo acoustic act, as well as with several different bands. Since leaving JMU, music has become more than just a hobby for Chris, but rather Chris's passion and second job. In the past year alone, Chris has played over 100 shows at some of the best venues the Washington DC area has to offer, including but not limited to: Gypsy Sally's, The Velvet Lounge, IOTA, Songbyrd Cafe, Jammin' Java, and The Bullpen at National's Park; in addition to performing at popular venues all up and down the east coast.

Chris independently released his first professionally recorded album "The Savannah Sessions" on all digital outlets (iTunes, spotify, etc.) on May 25th, 2015. The album received widespread support and great reviews on all digital outlets. The album was mixed and produced by Ted Bowne, one of Chris's greatest influences and the lead singer of the award winning rock-reggae band Passafire. “The Savannah Sessions” is available on iTunes, Spotify, Napster, Google Play, and youtube.

Chris's original song "My Oh My" off of the album was sought out by Sirius XM radio and is now being played regularly on Sirius XM's the Coffee House (Channel 14). Chris also performed a 5-song live session for Sirius XM in September 2015 that was featured on the Coffee House as well. "My Oh My" was also given an honorable mention at the 27th Rocky Mountain Folk Festival in Lyons, Colorado on August 18, 2017.

After two years of extensive live performances and touring, Chris independently released his next studio effort "Stranger Places" on April 10th, 2017 on all digital music outlets. This album was also produced and mixed by Ted Bowne from Passafire, and response to the release has been extremely positive, exposing Chris to a larger, more diverse audience up and down the east coast.

Chris has been featured as a guest on many music-centered radio programs, most recently being featured on "Voices From The DMV", and "DC Music Rocks", two radio shows airing on 96.7 FM in Arlington and the Washington DC area. Chris was also interviewed and performed on CBS radio's "Weekend Round-Up" podcast. The performance/interview aired on 7 different CBS radio stations around the country.

During his live performances, Chris includes the use of a looper pedal and other interesting effects, giving his solo performances a one-man-band type of appeal and the ability to keep large crowds entertained and dancing.

Chris recently co-founded a funk-blues-rock fusion three-piece band called The Cassaday Concoction. The band consists of local Washington DC music scene veterans Bryan Moran (bassist, Katita & The Fajitas) and Miles Lieder (drummer, Dale and The Zdubs). Each member's eclectic mix of musical backgrounds gives the band's sound a unique and powerful edge, luring the audience in with catchy harmonies, hard-punching rock and roll, and classic crowd-favorite covers. The group regularly performs around the Washington, DC area.

Chris's unique blend of blues, folk and funk, his crafty songwriting style, his unpredictable set lists, and his thunderous, distinctive voice have gathered him a significant following around his hometown and other parts of the DMV. He continues to play all up and down the east coast, and looks forward to eventually travelling across the country to share his music with the masses.

DJ Two Teks (Bang Bang)

Immersed in the hip hop subculture of the 1980s, AJ Naylor a.k.a. DJ

mimicking the sounds of DJ Jazzy Jeff, Eric B, and Jam Master Jay.
From there, he studied VHS tapes by the Invisible Scratch Pickles, DJ
Qbert, and DMC World DJ Championships competitions to refine his beat
juggling skills.

In the 1990s, he was featured on rap albums of local artists in
Frederick, MD, and released a series of mixtapes. In 2002, DJ TwoTeks
attended class at Scratch DJ Academy in New York City, NY and further
honed his skillset by studying under DJ I.Emerge, DJ Evil Dee, Rob
Swift, Mista Sinista, and Neil Armstrong. He started out as a battle
DJ, and has been scratching and beat juggling for the majority of his
career.

DJ'd at venues in San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Frederick and
Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; and New York City, NY alongside DJ Craze,
DJ Qbert, Biz Markie and Sharkey. Currently, he is the resident DJ of

Band Of Tomorrow

“The Band of Tomorrow ping-pongs between genres and weaves together harmonic sections in a way no other band would dare to. In the same way, their pre-written lyrics don’t shy away from any subject, nor does any special guest find it challenging to make a Band of Tomorrow song their own. This Band structures its mission around an unpredictable and transformative experience - always high energy, always premium quality, based often in familiar melodies and intellectual lyrics, but exploring improvised ideas with every new layer.

“Redefining what it means to make music in this time and bringing audiences to new highs at festivals and venues across the Eastern Seaboard, including DC’s venerated 9:30 Club and the Firefly Music Festival, the Band of Tomorrow is not one to miss.” - Carly Shields, Ever Upward Entertainment, Denver, CO

The Stone Eye // Omen Stone // The Age of Truth // Marshal Fuzz

The Stone Eye (Philadelphia, PA) https://thestonedeye.bandcamp.com/ : Rising from the ashes of absolutely nothing but the remnants of Uncle Earl's canned Budweiser in 2014, The Stone Eye is an electrifying rock band from Philadelphia, PA. Combining elements of grunge, stoner rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, & doom metal comes a hard hitting yet catchy style of music. Hell, we'd wager that there's even more styles of music which they draw inspiration from. Crazy, right? Following a plethora of releases dating back to 2014, The Stone Eye is at it yet again with their latest 2018 LP "Kevlar, Kryptonite, Gloria". This one's for you, Uncle Earl.

The Age of Truth (Philadelphia, PA) https://theageoftruth.bandcamp.com/:

The Age Of Truth is a band, a brotherhood and a mission. Four brothers-in-arms bring a fully stocked arsenal of riffs wrapped in a tone of honey-dipped Satan, The Age Of Truth blends fuzz and diesel fuel with elements of heavy blues, stoner rock and psychedelia. The perfect soundtrack for a barroom brawl that they know only as…the heaviness.

Like being thrown through a window. From Philadelphia.

Omen Stone (Richmond, VA) https://omenstones.bandcamp.com/ : HEAVY

Local up and comers Marshal Fuzz combine tight rhythm section serious riffage and soulful vocals to evoke the spirit of 70s metal and 90s grunge. They have been described as a combination of Black Sabbath and Muddy Waters..

Blue Heaven (Dream Pop)

Blue Heaven (Dream Pop)

Blue Heaven is what you would probably, most likely call a band. They basically play music. Very goodly i might add. 12/10 would recommend.

Blue Heaven is an indie pop band from Frederick, MD. From an interview with their drummer Matt Full: "When we first started the project we kept using the term “Dream Pop”. We wanted to write music with a specific alternative vibe in mind. We didn’t want to write mainstream pop music, and we also didn’t want to write specifically Indie Rock. We wanted to land right in the sweet spot between the two and write music that had the alternative influenced with the polished sound of pop. This is something The Cure accomplished long ago. They are a big inspiration to us."

The Fishermen Band

The Fishermen Band

Brothers Phillip and Lindsay Hough started The Fishermen Band in the late 90's, and for the last 20 years the band has toured extensively and supported some of the biggest names in music. Though they wrote in completely different styles, the Hough brothers music blended well and was always centered around vocal harmonies. During the coarse of their career, they sold out shows at LA's iconic stages, haunted SXSW venues in Austin Texas, performed at popular New York City dives, graced DCs most infamous clubs, appeared on radio and television, and played countless Colleges, Fundraisers, and Festivals in between. The band came full circle and planted a flag in DC in 2008, setting a foundation and building a new band with some of the best friends and fans on Earth. A decade later, The Fishermen Band is still performing in Washington DC.

Current members Drummer Chris Compton and Bassist Brian Waitzman helped to evolve the bands sound into a rock/funk/reggae/folk fusion, known for dramatic dynamics and upbeat dance-worthy tunes. The band has printed unique collectible CD's for every show they've played since 2004. Until 2017, outside of their hit single "Someday" and first iTunes album release "Vision", you could only get Fishermen Band music at one of their shows. Printing a unique CD per show since 2004 resulted in well over 1500 different versions of their records. Collectible discs can still be had at TFB shows in the Washington DC region, and the band plans to offer a Vinyl collection.

The Fun Boys

The Fun Boys

The Fun Boys are a Maryland based band and prefer to be called "The Fun Boys". One time on the way to summer camp a lady bug slipped into my slipper, what a friend! It's okay though, I got no bugs on me.  I went to Aunt JJ's last night to eat some ho-hos and got a hella-belly ache.  This band is cool I guess.  It hurts to play instruments, but it's okay!  I got no bugs on me (not)! I know the guy who owns this bar too.  Cool guy!  Lots-o-tats!  I can't wait to get tattoos too, dude.  Me and Sam and Colin and Matt and Andrew and Haas, we got lifer tattoos. Mine says "DOES MY FACE LO" and his says "OK LIKE A DRAGON".  Too fun! #toofun  The Fun Boys are from Frederick, MD.  They consist of 4 members at the same skill level.  You gotta see it.  It's a nightmare.
